​This Classic lasagna is a good recipe to serve in parties to impress your guests. A good combo with red wines and champagne.

It serves 6-8 people.

INGREDIENTS 

  • 3 tbsp pf Olive oil or Cooking oil

  • 3 Onion Medium size chopped into thin

  • 2 Carrots Medium size chopped thin and round

  • 1 tbsp of Red /Green Fresh Chilli Mild

  • 1 tbsp of Ginger Chopped

  • 2 tbsp of Garlic Fresh Chopped

  • 2 Tomatoes chopped as big pieces

  • 1 Nutmeg

  • 1 tsp of Fennel Seeds

  • 4 Cloves

  • 6-10 Black Whole Pepper OR Kurumulaku

  • 2 Bay Leaves

  • 2 Pieces of cinnamon stick (watch video)

  • 2 tsp of Salt Or as required

  • 3 tsp of Kashmiri chilli powder

  • 1 tsp of Red Chilli Powder

  • 4 tsp of Coriander Powder

  • 1 tsp of Turmeric Powder

  • 600-1000g Chicken Breast

  • 250g Lasagna Tomato Red Sauce

INGREDIENTS 

 

STEP 2

  • 500-700g Lasagna Creamy White Sauce

  • Coriander leaves as required

  • Mature Cheddar Cheese Grated (White)

  • Lasagna Pasta Sheets dry ,boiled or fresh

  • Red Cheddar Cheese grated ( choice of cheese-

        is yours)

  • 100g of Lasagna Tomato Sauce

HOW TO COOK NK'S CHICKEN LASAGNA

Step 1

  • Maintain low to medium heat.  Add 3 tablespoon of Olive oil/ cooking oil. Once the oil is hot, add onions chopped into thin.

  • Add carrots chopped into thin and round.

  • Add  Red or Green fresh chilli and ginger chopped. Also add the garlic fresh chopped.

  • Add tomatoes chopped into big pieces.

  • Stir for 2 minutes.

  • After 2 minutes add the nutmeg, fennel seeds,cloves and black peppers as whole.

  • Also add the bay leaves,cinnamon stick and salt.

  • Stir for 4-5 minutes .

  • After 4-5 minutes, maintain low flame and add the spices ( Kashmiri chilli powder, Red chilli powder, Coriander powder and Turmeric Powder.

  • Stir for 2 minutes.

  • After 2 minutes add the chicken pieces. Stir for 3 minutes. Add 250g tomato lasagna red sauce. (do not add too much tomato sauce, as it can subside the flavours of the other spices.

  • After adding the tomato sauce stir for 3 minutes.

  • Add water enough to cover the chicken pieces.

  • Maintain low to medium flame.

  • Cover with a lid.

  • Cook for 35-45 minutes

  • Stir every 15 minutes.

  • After 45 minutes, keep it aside.

HOW TO LAYER NK'S CHICKEN LASAGNA

Step 2

  • Add chicken curry as first layer,

  • Then add a layer of creamy white sauce.

  • Above the sauce add chopped coriander leaves as required.

  • Then add grated mature cheddar white OR cheese of your choice.

  • Above the cheese add lasagna sheets (dry sheets make it wet by dipping in warm water with few drops of olive oil. OR use fresh sheets OR use boiled & drained sheets)

  • Next layer chicken curry again, then creamy white sauce, then coriander leaves, Then add grated mature cheddar white. Above the cheese add lasagna sheets. Repeat the same, as many layers as required.

  • On top layer I have used grated red cheddar cheese, and then do not require lasagna sheets, instead can add some lasagna tomato sauce remaining (100g). 

  • Cover with foil . Do not tightly seal. Cheese might stick to foil if it is too tightly seal. Leave some space over the the lasagna tray, after adding cheese and tomato sauce to avoid sticking to the foil.

THE COOKING PROCESS

Step 3

  • Preheat  the oven to 190C fan oven/375F/Gas Mark 5.

  • Cook in the oven for 45-50minutes, if you are using dry pasta sheets.

  • Cook in the oven for 25-30minutes, if you are using boiled or fresh pasta sheets. Remember to remove the foil 10 minutes before it's finish cooking.
