Ingredients

INGREDIENTS - Step 1


  • 3-4 tablespoon Cooking Oil


  • 1/2 teaspoon Fenugreek Seeds


  • 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds


  • 1 tsp of Salt


  • 1 tablespoon Ginger chopped


  • 1 Green Chilli 


  • 1 Onion Large


  • 12-15 Curry leaves


  • 1 Tomato Large


  • 1 tablespoon Tomato Puree


  • 1/2 teaspoon Chilli Powder


  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder


  • 1 teaspoon Coriander Powder


  • 2 teaspoon Kashmiri Chilli Powder


  • 1 teaspoon Salt OR as required


  • 200g -700g Fish


  • 1 piece Malabar Tamarind/Garcinia Cambogia 


             OR 1 teaspoon Tamarind paste 


  • 3 tbsp of Olive Oil OR Cooking Oil


  • 1-2 tablespon Coriander Leaves



How to Make

Step 1



  • Heat the pan and add mustard seeds and fenugreek seeds. After it sizzles, add ginger, chopped chilli, Onion and curry leaves. Fry all these for 8-10 minutes. Add the tomato and stir again.


  • Add tomato puree and rest of the spices including chilli powder, kashmiri chilli powder, Turmeric powder and coriander powder.  Mix well. Add water and salt.


  • Cover with a lid and bring to boil. Add the fish pieces and tamarind or tamarind  paste. (optional, adding tamarind or tamarind paste can give more taste but it is optional )


  • Cover with lid and cook for 5 minutes on medium flame. After 5 minutes take the lid off and cook for 10-15 minutes. Add the coriander leaves, when the required consistency reaches, turn off the heat.
