SOFT NAAN RECIPE
This tasty soft naan recipe is a good choice for dinner with any meat or vegetable curries.
SERVES 4
Can Serve with any meat curries and vegetable curries like lentils.
STEP 1
INGREDIENTS

100ml lukewarm water
-
1 tbsp or 7g dried fast action yeast
-
1 tbsp sugar

INGREDIENTS

450g plain flour or maida
-
1 tbsp milk powder
-
1 tbsp coconut milk
-
3 tbsp Natural yogurt or curd
-
3/4 tsp salt
-
Oil as required
-
Water as required

Butter as required
How to Make Soft Naan Recipe
STEP 1

Take a high bowl. Add all step 1 ingredients and mix well. (water,yeast & sugar)

Cover with a lid .

Keep aside for 10 minutes.
STEP 2

After 10 minutes add all step 2 ingredients( Plain flour, coconut milk, yogurt, milk powder & salt) to the step 1 ingredients.

Mix well, if require sprinkle very little amount of water in between couple of times. ( watch the video ).

Also add 1 tbsp of oil.

After mixing (to make it perfect and to avoid too much oily touch) sprinkle some flour( only sprinkle maximum of a tablespoon).

Once the dough is ready cover the ball with a cling film or lid.

Keep this ball in a warm place for 2-3 hours.

After the time specified you can see the dome shaped dough, fermented well.

Apply some oil in your hand and mix this dough.

Divide the dough equally in to four portion.

With each portion of dough make a ball and flatten, by adding some flour to a smooth surface ( watch video).

Apply some oil to the rolling pin before flatten the dough.

Heat a pan on a medium heat.
-
Maintain the medium heat. ( not too low, not too high)
-
Once the pan is hot add the flatten naan to the pan or tawa.

After 25 seconds flip to other side.
-
Flip again after 10 seconds.
-
Wait until 30 seconds to flip again .

Press very *gently with a flatten spatula over the sides of the naan where it is not puffy.

Thereafter flip after every 30 seconds until the naan gets a golden colour and starts to get a light brown colour.

If proper temperature maintained, it can be ready in 2-4 minutes depending on the temperature and thickness of the naan.

It took me 3 minutes.

As soon as the naan is taken out apply some butter on the top of it (only one side).
***Soft nnaan is ready. Serve with any curries.
